RISK ASSESSMENT FOR TRANSMISSION OF COVID 19


A risk assessment was performed in the premises of Reiki Teddy / Julie Sian on 31 July 2020 in accordance to the hazard of the transmission of COVID 19 which could be harmful to all staff and clients.


1.   Hand sanitiser immediately available when entering the premises.

2.   Flow of work has been assessed and re-organised to remove any opportunities of the coronavirus to spread.

3.   Social distancing and cleaning measures have been put into place.

4.   Chairs and tables are moved so they are 2 m apart.

5.   Hand drying facilities have been provided – paper towels. Bins will be emptied frequently.

6.   One workstation and pieces of equipment have been allocated to each individual member of staff.

7.   Hand sanitiser are provided at workstation to staff so can clean and sanitise hands as required.

8.   Doors are left open (fire safety has been taken into consideration) to remove the need for people to touch door handles.

9.   Common areas of workplace will have regular cleaning – such as door handles, handrails etc.

10. Cleaning of work equipment has been considered of when and how they will be cleaned.

11. When delivering, receiving or handling goods, these will be sprayed with disinfectant spray and gloves will be worn.

12. Surfaces will be kept clear of unnecessary objects in order to make cleaning easier and to reduce the number of things that can become contaminated on the work surfaces.

13. “Clean as you use system” is in place for all communal areas.

14. The areas where customers visit is cleaned and cleared after each visit.

15. Face masks or visor will be worn by staff during all treatments, where necessary.

16. Face masks or visors to be worn by clients during all treatments, where necessary.

17. Visors can be used and will be sanitised after every client.

18. Staff know the current guidelines abut self-isolation if they or someone in their home has symptoms.

19. If a client becomes infected with coronavirus following treatment, they are to inform Reiki Teddy / Julie Sian so staff members can be informed.

20. If a member of staff becomes infected with coronavirus, clients will be informed.
